How to set up a Template

Cuemby Platform lets you create a Template. A Template in Cuemby Platform is a template that contains the code repo and scaling strategies and can be replicated in multiple Environments and as Runtimes. For more information, please check out Documentation.

1

Go to the menu, open “Template” and select the “Templates” tab

2

Click on “Create”

You will need to name the Template you are going to create. You can use lowercase, numbers and dashes (start with an alphanumeric and end with an alphanumeric) but uppercase, spaces and special symbols aren't allowed.

3

Select the name of the Git Integration and repository

The integration is a name of the connection you established previously with the Git repository provider.

Remember, you can only select from the Integration you created under the particular Organization or Personal account.

4

Choose the traffic type of the Template.

If your Template is open to the public and interacts with traffic that is outside your project, please select External. If your application is to service other applications in the same project internally, you can select internal. It is important to note that when you create a Runtime, the platform automatically generates a CloudFlare Origin Certificate Authority (Origin CA).

By selecting the option “External,” Cuemby Platform provides more robust security to your infrastructure. Ingress certificates are automatically renewed, eliminating the need for manual updates and the worry of missing expiration.

5

Write the dockerfile path to build the image

6

Click on “Next"

7

In the second step of creating a Template, you can add Environment Variables for your Template.

If you have sensitive information such as TOKEN, you are able to Encrypt the information by clicking on the Encrypt lock icon.

8

Click on “Next"

9

Define an Instance Type (for free trial you can only select extra small).

Extra small

CPU 100m, RAM 128 Mi

The rest of the fields are pre-filled. For more information, please check out Documentation. If you are not sure, you can use the pre-defined values. However, if you are planning on running a robust Template, you may need to make changes.

10

After defining the scaling strategies, click on “Create”

Great! Now you have successfully created a new Template!
